HOA Stories is a homeowner-side platform: reviews, ratings, real stories, know-your-rights guides, and AI tools, built for the owner who feels powerless against their association. We give them data, a voice, and the leverage to push back.
We answer to homeowners
Boards, managers, and vendors already have the data, the lawyers, and the megaphone. This platform exists for the individual owner: ratings, voice, community, and tools to push back. No one can pay us to influence what gets published — when a vendor pays a referral fee for a request you chose to send, that fee never touches content, ratings, or moderation.
Independent by design
We re-source association facts from primary public records, drawing on state filings and county records rather than an industry database. Public facts only, gathered first-hand, so what you read here owes nothing to anyone with a stake in the answer.
Anonymous, not lawless
You can post under a pseudonym. Clear rules still apply: no threats, doxxing, hate, personal data, or unverifiable claims of crime. AI moderation screens and redacts before anything publishes, with a human-review queue behind it.
About the association, never a person
Ratings, reviews, and stories cover the association and roles like 'the board,' not named individuals. We auto-detect and redact personal names, addresses, and other PII before anything goes live.
Why we built this
For most people, an HOA or condo association is the most powerful institution they deal with day to day. It can fine you, lien your home, deny a renovation, and set the rules of your street. Yet the average owner walks into a hearing with no idea what the statute actually requires. The industry has tools, counsel, and a polished public face. Owners have a folder of letters and a feeling that something isn’t right.
We close that gap. We put homeowner ratings and first-person stories on the record, we translate the governing statutes into plain English by state and topic, and we point the same kind of document AI the industry uses back the other way, at the owner’s problem. The goal is leverage: walk in informed, push back with the facts.
What we will and won’t do
We publish what owners experience, screened for safety and stripped of anything that targets a named person. We don’t publish thin, scraped directory stubs. A page only goes up once it carries real, unique substance. And the AI tools inform and draft; they never give legal advice or promise an outcome. Every legal-adjacent result carries a not-legal-advice notice, and we say it plainly: consult a licensed attorney in your state before you act.
The money side is public too. Every way this site earns — and the revenue we refuse on principle — is spelled out plainly on how we make money.
