Speak freely. Play fair.
These rules keep this a place where homeowners can be honest about their associations without it turning into a place where people get hurt. They apply to everyone, including anonymous accounts.
No threats or calls for harm
Do not threaten anyone or encourage violence, retaliation, or harm against a person, a board, or a property. This is a place to document and push back, not to intimidate.
No doxxing or personal data
Do not post anyone's home address, unit number, phone, email, license plate, workplace, or other private details. We also redact this kind of information automatically when we find it.
No hate or harassment
No slurs, no attacks based on who someone is, and no piling on or campaigns against an individual. Criticism of how an association is run is welcome; abuse of people is not.
No unverifiable claims of crime
Do not flatly state that a named person committed a crime or fraud. Describe what you experienced, in your own words, framed around the association and the facts you can speak to.
Aim at the association, not a neighbor
Reviews, ratings, and stories are about the association and roles like the board or management. They are not the place to name and shame an individual owner, board member, or staffer.
Your own experience, one household, one review
Reviews must be your own lived experience as a homeowner in the association. One household gets one review per association — a repeat submission updates your earlier one. Boards or managers writing their own reviews, coordinated pile-ons, and traded or paid reviews get removed.
Stay on topic
This community is about living under an HOA or a condo or co-op association. Off-topic posts, ads, and spam get removed.
Anonymous, not lawless
You do not have to use your real name to post here. We built it that way on purpose, so that owners can speak up without fear of retaliation from a board or a manager. Anonymous to everyone who reads it; pseudonymous to us, so the rules can be enforced. That accountability is a shield for honest speech, not a license to break these rules. Every post is screened before it publishes, and accounts that break the rules can lose the ability to post.
How enforcement works
Posts run through automated screening before they go live, and anything uncertain is held for a person to review. If something slips through, anyone can flag it or request a takedown. We would rather hold a borderline post back than publish something that harms a real person. For the full picture, read how moderation works.
