Data study
What does a Wyoming homeowner actually pay in HOA, condo, and co-op fees, and where inside the state is it highest? Our analysis of U.S. Census survey microdata down to the sub-state level. A typical fee for an area, not a quote for any one association.
Areas are U.S. Census Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs), the smallest geography the source survey publishes — we don’t yet have a plain-English place name for every PUMA, so areas are labeled by their Census code.
| Area (PUMA) | Typical / mo |

The figures come from the American Community Survey 2024 5-year PUMS (2020–2024), a public U.S. Census Bureau survey. For each PUMA (Public Use Microdata Area) within Wyoming, Census records the median monthly condominium, co-op, or HOA fee among households that pay one, and the share of households that pay. We combine those area medians into the state figure above, weighting each area by how many paying households it has, and separately surface the PUMAs with the highest and lowest typical fees. This is our own calculation, derived from Census data — not an official Census statistic, and the Census Bureau did not produce or endorse these figures.
Areas below a minimum survey sample are left out rather than shown as a shaky number, so Wyoming’s highest/lowest lists may be shorter than its full PUMA count. Single-family HOA dues are only partly captured by the Census fee question, so the single-family figure is the softer of the two.
